If you want to insure a camper with a custom body, select the appropriate vehicle base and declare the value of your custom body as attachments and fixtures.
How long does it take for the insurance certificate to be ready at the road traffic office?
As a rule, we transmit the insurance certificate electronically within a maximum of 24 hours after the conclusion of the insurance to the responsible road traffic office. Please contact us by phone at 058 521 11 11, should you require a shorter period. Even if the insurance certificate has already been sent by us, it can only be activated as of the start date of the insurance.

After the purchase, the electronic insurance certificate is sent to the Road Traffic Office. You can redeem your vehicle from the start date of the insurance contract at the road traffic office. You will receive your insurance documents from us by e-mail afterwards.
I currently still live in England. In a few months, I will move to Switzerland and take my car or motorbike with me. How can I insure my vehicle with simpego?
The vehicle must be declared to the Swiss customs office when it is imported into Switzerland. The customs office assigns the vehicle a master number and, in particular, issues the inspection report (Form. 13.20 A), which is later required for the registration inspection. How can I change insurance if I am now insured with another insurance company?
After you have calculated a quote easily and without obligation, there is the possibility to confirm it directly online. Through the confirmation, the electronic insurance certificate is sent to the road traffic office. You can make the transfer of the vehicle registration document by mail. Copy your vehicle registration document and send the original by mail to the nearest road traffic office in your canton.
I would like to take over my aunt’s policy. Is that possible?
An insurance contract is always personal and cannot be transferred.
You have the possibility to calculate your personal offer, which you can also confirm immediately.
So that you can report the change of owner to the road traffic office, the electronic insurance certificate is triggered at the same time.
If your aunt is also insured with simpego, the contract can be cancelled by our Customer Solution Center. Otherwise, we will be happy to provide you with a prefabricated cancellation form to notify your aunt’s previous insurer.
I would like to retroactively change my comprehensive insurance to partial cover at the beginning of the contract. How do I proceed?

How long am I committed to simpego when I sign a contract?
Simpego exclusively offers annual contracts. The insurance is concluded for the duration of one year and is tacitly renewed for a further contract year, provided that neither contracting party cancels before the end of the contract year.
Optionally, you can include the right of daily termination for each contract with us and thus terminate the contract at any time with a notice period of 24h.
I will be selling my car or motorbike in the near future. What do I have to do?
As soon as you have handed in your license plate to the Road Traffic Office, you can notify us of the sale of the vehicle at service@simpego.ch or by calling +41 58 521 11 11. We will cancel your contract and refund any unused premium.
We have moved. Where can I report the new address?

A new electronic insurance certificate is only required in the event of a change of canton.
How do I get a green card (international insurance card)?

An acquaintance told me I need to organise a green card with the insurance company before I go on holiday. Why do I need it?
The purpose of the insurance document known as a green card is to certify, upon entry into a foreign state, that the vehicle designated on the card has sufficient liability insurance coverage. (Source: Natioanles Insurance Office Switzerland)
Whether or not you need a green card for your destination can be found on the National Insurance Office map.
Note: The green card is not accepted in Kosovo and border insurance must be purchased in any case.

I’m going abroad for a few months and want to hand in my motorbike’s licence plates. What do I have to do?
In case of temporary deposit of the license plates, there will be no proportional refund of the insurance premium. If you are depositing the license plates for longer than 6 months, please contact our Customer Solution Center at +41 58 521 11 11 or by email at service@simpego.ch.
Should I deposit the licence plates of my motorbike in winter?
The motorcycle insurance premium already considers that you cannot drive every day of the year. Therefore, for the temporary deposit of the license plates, the premium is not refunded proportionally. It therefore makes sense to keep the license plates throughout the year. This way, you can also enjoy beautiful winter days on your motorcycle. If you want to deposit the plates for longer than 6 months, please contact our Customer Solution Center at +41 58 521 11 11 or by email at service@simpego.ch, so that the contract can be cancelled for this period if necessary and the premium can be refunded.
I am taking over the car or motorbike and the licence plate from my spouse. Do we have to do anything?

How can I add additional drivers to the policy by name?
Additional drivers do not have to be recorded by name. The group of drivers is not restricted.
If a driver under 25 years of age causes a liability claim, an additional deductible of CHF 1000 will be charged. If you already know at the time of contract conclusion that there are drivers under 25 years of age, you can declare them at the time of conclusion. This means that the additional deductible of CHF 1000 does not apply even if the claim was caused by a driver under 25 years of age. This applies regardless of whether it is an additional driver or the policyholder.
How can I cancel my car insurance?
You can conveniently terminate your contract at the end of the contract period by sending an email to service@simpego.ch or via the cancellation form.
