Procedure in the event of a claim
simpego offers two different repair models for comprehensive damage in car and van insurance.
Repair model “Partner garage”
With the “Partner garage” repair model, you agree to have your vehicle repaired at a simpego partner garage in the event of comprehensive damage (damage to your car / van). In return, you benefit from various advantages.
Procedure in the event of a claim
If your car or van has suffered comprehensive damage, proceed as follows:
- Report the damage to us on +41 58 521 11 11 (available 24/7).
- Bring your car to the partner garage agreed with us or have it conveniently collected from your home by the partner garage and returned after successful repair.

If you do not have the opportunity to contact us, or if you have already selected a suitable partner garage, you can also bring your vehicle directly to this partner garage. The advantage of contacting us first is that we can check which partner garage has sufficient capacity to repair your vehicle as quickly as possible. There are some exceptions in which you are not obliged to use our partner garages, e.g. if the damage occurred abroad and the repair is carried out abroad or in the case of certain comprehensive damage (e.g. marten or glass damage) where our partner garages cannot carry out the desired repair. Please note the exceptions.

Insured vehicles

- Vans, whether registered as delivery vans or passenger cars
The “Partner garage” repair model is not possible for all other types of vehicles and passenger cars or vans that are insured as classic cars.
Exceptions
Situations or damages where your obligations do not apply, and you cannot benefit from the advantages:
- Glass damage (breakage damage to vehicle parts made of glass);
- Marten damage (damage and consequential damage caused by bites from martens and rodents);
- You have a full-service leasing contract that obliges you to have the vehicle repaired at certain repair workshops;
- the repair is carried out abroad;
- the police have your vehicle towed away after an accident, and you are unable to notify us of the damage in advance for medical reasons;
- the repair does not concern an insured comprehensive event.
What happens if I still want another garage in the event of a claim?
If you do not comply with the obligation to choose a partner garage for the repair in the event of a claim, your contract will be changed to the repair model “free choice of garage” at the beginning of the current insurance year and the discount for the partner garage included in the hull premium will no longer apply, and you will have to pay the additional premium. You will then no longer be obliged to choose simpego partner garages in the event of a claim. Apart from converting your contract to free choice of garage, nothing else will happen, and you will not have to pay a penalty excess or anything else.
Repair model “Free choice of garage”
With the “Free choice of garage” repair model, you are free to choose the repair garage in the event of comprehensive damage (damage to your car / van). In return, you pay a small surcharge in the hull premium compared to the “Partner garage” repair model. If you still decide to use a simpego Partner garage in the event of a claim, you will, of course, benefit from the following advantages.

If you want to benefit from advantages in the event of a claim, report the damage to us on +41 58 521 11 11 and use the Partner garage suggested by simpego for the repair.
Advantages if you do use a Partner garage in the event of a claim
If you report your claim to us before the repair, even though you have “free choice of garage” insurance, and have the repair carried out at a simpego Partner garage, you have the following advantages:
- Free pick-up and drop-off service for your vehicle
- Free replacement vehicle for the duration of the repair
- Guarantee on work carried out
- Reduction of your excess by CHF 100
