My pet falls ill while I am abroad – what now? ✈️
If you are already on holiday and a veterinary emergency occurs at home, our Personal assistance service will step in.
- If a serious illness, accident or death of your pet at home (or travelling with you) requires your immediate presence, we will organise your return journey.
- We will cover the unplanned costs of your return journey (as well as any additional accommodation costs) up to an amount of CHF 5,000.

- If the designated carer is unable to attend due to serious illness, accident or death, and this requires you to be present on site or to organise alternative care, the Insurance cover applies.
- We will cover the cancellation costs incurred before the trip or organise and pay for your unscheduled return journey.

If your dog or cat falls seriously ill, has an accident or is unexpectedly diagnosed with a chronic illness shortly before your holiday, forcing you to stay at home, our Cancellation costs insurance will cover the costs. We will cover cancellation costs of up to CHF 5,000.

Report the emergency (serious illness, accident or death of your animal) to us as soon as possible.
- We will reimburse you for the cancellation costs if you are unable to travel.
- If you are already travelling, we will organise your unscheduled return journey and cover the costs. Both types of cover are limited to a maximum of CHF 5,000.
- Important: Veterinary bills for the actual treatment of your pet (healing costs) are not covered by Travel insurance.
How am I covered if my pet care unexpectedly falls through? 🏡
If your planned pet sitter suddenly drops out due to serious illness, accident or death, we won’t leave you in the lurch.
If you have to cancel or cut short your trip in order to find new childcare arrangements locally, we will cover the cancellation or return travel costs up to a maximum of CHF 5,000.

This is a very sad situation, but we will provide you with financial support during this difficult time. If your pet dies during your trip together, we will cover the costs of repatriation (up to a maximum of CHF 5,000).
